• Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar

The monastery, a historical landmark and designated UNESCO World Heritage Site was one of our painting locations. This perspective is from below on street level but we were able to walk around the outside and also saw it from the river, it was a spectacular sight. Again, it has a fascinating history. Dimensions: 11 X 14 or 28 X 36 cm Framed/Unframed: Framed Medium: Oil Price: $200 CAD

  • Still Life in the Mena Dance Room

We had one rainy day that enabled us to paint in the dance hall next to the dining room in our ‘Guest House’, called Mena House. I painted this still life which stood in front of mirrors reflecting on themselves. We were accompanied by exceptional portraits of musical masters, like Beethoven. Giclee is known as a high-quality process that was developed in France. It distributes ink and colour with a similar resolution, offering precision similar to an inkjet printer. Dimensions: 11 X 14, 28 X 35.5 Framed/Unframed: Framed Medium: Oil Price: $200 CAD

  • Jardim de Cordoaria

The old city square where university graduates walked around with top hats and canes, wearing black capes over their formal black suits and ties. The ladies were carrying bouquets of flowers, and with their families were sharing much joy and congratulatory comments. Around us, round tables with umbrellas outside cafes were filled with people dining and celebrating. The students walked respectfully around the square and neighbouring streets in droves well into the early morning. Dimensions: 11 X 14, 28 X 35.5 Framed/Unframed: Framed Medium: Oil Price: $200 CAD

  • Ponte da Arrabida

The bridge overlooking the Atlantic as we stood in the park originally a zoo, humoured by the gaggle of all kinds of birds, chickens, roosters, geese, and a few proud peacocks. The wide boulevard through the park was bordered with tall trees and there was a gentle quietness that invited inspirational creations. The park which hosts two churches has a fascinating history. More paintings inspired and captured on my photos, to come. Dimensions: 11 X 14, 28 X 35.5 Framed/Unframed: Framed Medium: Oil Price: $200 CAD

  • Cityscape in Abstract

I am reminded of the industrial era with this painting, but one that also represents hope for the future because of the colour and perspective. I enjoy learning about the world and sometimes books I am reading influence my painting. Dimensions: 16 X 20, 41 X 51 Framed/Unframed: Framed Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Price: $325 CAD

  • Village in Abstract

This painting has so much complexity and so many layers that not only weighs more than the other paintings but it also hosts a dynamic depth that seems to shine in a different light. In addition to using paint I used tissue paper to collage onto the canvas, as well as stencils with diverse shapes. Much can be left up to the imaginations of others. Dimensions: 24 X 30, 61 X 76 Framed/Unframed: Unframed on Canvas Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Price: $450 CAD

  • Olympic Mountains

This is one of my favourite paintings. Almost daily, throughout all West Coast seasons, I get to see the majestic Olympic Mountains. I have known climbers who have dared to hike up their slopes but I am content to see them from a distance putting their images and all that they portray on canvas. Dimensions: 24 X 36, 61 X 92 Framed/Unframed: Unframed on Canvas Medium: Acrylic Price: $450 CAD

  • Waterfall

This was one of the most freeing and colourful paintings I managed to paint in the midst of COVID. While waiting for a time when I could have a show again, I hung it in a central place. Once again it gave me a sense of energy, but it also reminded me to stay in the present moment. Dimensions: 20 X 24, 51 X 61 Framed/Unframed: Unframed on Canvas Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Price: $275 CAD

  • Lilac Forest

Again, one of my favourite paintings giving an impression of a forest, one I call a Lilac Forest. All the colours express movement, energy, and life. Painting is like looking into another person’s eyes…offering a window to the soul. To me paintings serves to offer metaphors that make so much sense. In the wise words of Wassily KAndinski, “Generally speaking, color directly influences the soul. Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul.” Dimensions: 22 X 28″, 56 X 71 Framed/Unframed: Unframed…

  • Mountain Walk

Walking in nature, through forests or over mountains brings peace and quiet, gently inviting reflection. Painting offers this as well. It becomes an experience that can be shared on canvas or paper, with paint or any other creative tools…not just a vision of what I see. It is more complex, more colourful. My paintings are an expression of vision, thought, feeling, experience, and dreams. “Color provokes a psychic vibration. Color hides a power still unknown but real, which acts on every part of the human body.”~ Wassily Kandinsky Dimensions: 16 X 20 or 41 X 51 Framed/Unframed: canvas Medium: acrylic Price: $225 CAD
