Jardim de Cordoaria

The old city square where university graduates walked around with top hats and canes, wearing black capes over their formal black suits and ties. The ladies were carrying bouquets of flowers, and with their families were sharing much joy and congratulatory comments. Around us, round tables with umbrellas outside cafes were filled with people dining and celebrating. The students walked respectfully around the square and neighbouring streets in droves well into the early morning.
